I have been a massive Can fan for many years and was absolutely stunned when Damo Suzuki agreed to do a 7” single for mpls ltd. When the “Fall of Fire Bird” records arrived in 2007, Damo was on a U.S. tour and asked me to bring his copies to his upcoming show at the Whole Music Club. I had missed his appearance at the 7th Street Entry a few years earlier, but literally everyone I knew that was there had a story about Damo going out into the audience during the show and getting a very sweaty hug from him. So after he plays his Whole set, I make my way over to introduce myself in person and give him his records. Without even thinking about it, I instantly attempted to give him a hug to which he stops me and says "What are you doing?" I was like "I heard you hug people" and he responds "Yeah I don't do that anymore."

Thank you Damo Suzuki for your incredible body of work and brilliant legacy.
