While living in San Francisco during '96 and '97, soon-to-be DJ Jerome Reading stumbled upon the booming jungle scene there. After moving back to Minneapolis, he met DJ Christian Fritz, and they began to play around Minneapolis at loft parties and small events. He has since grown to love deep tech-house, dubby techno, and trip-hop in addition to drum & bass.

Then in the year 2000, Jerome Reading teamed up with DJCF for a residency at Minneapolis' downtown venue, liquid. There they hosted Benthic, a Thursday night of deep house, trip-hop and drum 'n' bass. After liquid closed for relocation, Jerome and Fritz formed movegroup. Under that affiliation, they hosted several parties in addition to spinning out at the new liquid, the Loring bar and a couple of packed gigs at New York's NW3 lounge.

New Year's Eve 2001, he ushered in the year at the "Fairy Tale on F Street" party in San Diego. That year saw Jerome return to New York to play at Liquids and Hatch. Back home, he and Christian threw a series of 'unwind' parties at Minneapolis' sursumcorda lounge. He also made a guest appearance at Beatopia, in the VIP room First Avenue. An enthusiastic crowd greeted him at Griboyedov in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The music and vodka lasted late into the night at that converted bomb shelter.

When he's not spinning Jerome is in the studio, making new sounds. His first release is out now on mpls ltd. The upcoming months will see Jerome back in the studio, taking just enough of a break to travel to Iceland, Finland and the UK.
